About Montréal

Montrèal Cain is a Milwaukee‑based educator, mental health advocate, and community leader with a Master’s degree in Counseling. He founded the MERA Response Team, delivering critical preventive care, real‑time monitoring, and unarmed crisis intervention for vulnerable communities. With 14 years of teaching experience, Cain has served as a broadcast journalism instructor at Marshall High School and taught at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He also competed on American Idol Season 12, finishing in the Top 1% nationwide.

Cain serves as Co‑Chair of the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force and Media Director for his church, where he leads communications and digital engagement. As the only provider in both Cook County and Milwaukee County using MERA technology to observe youth behavioral change, support record expungement, and teach multimedia skills, Cain has demonstrated how positive behavior‑incentive solutions rebuild family relationships and prevent crises and reentry.

Following the historic thousand‑year flood on April 10, 2025, his leadership with Flood Hope earned him a Key to the City, Unsung Hero Award, Milwaukee Turners Liberty Against All Oppression Award, Red Cross Brave Heart Hero Award, and multiple proclamations from county and state officials.

 

His achievements include winning Founder Fest Milwaukee, receiving Mentor of the Game (October 2025), being named Educator of the Year, winning First Place in the 2026 Stepping with the Stars, and earning First Place Global for Health and Innovation for MERA Technology. A proud Rebel for Life since age three, Cain has served as Lead Mentor with Be the Change and continues to be a dedicated partner.
